Deepfake? DeepFrench!

French is one of the world’s most influential languages because of its wide use in the worlds of journalism, legal profession, education, and diplomacy. In a study published in March 2014 by Forbes, the investment bank Natixis said that French could become the world’s most spoken language by 2050. It would only seem natural that the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Action Summit would be hosted in the capital of France, Paris.

The Large Language Model (LLM) is the basis of many AI technologies. LLM is designed for natural language processing and generation. Considering the growing proliferation of the French language, the importance of a French large language model (LLM) such as Mistral AI (2023), are increasingly more pressing. This, despite the recently released DeepSeek’s LLM (2023) from China and ChatGPT (2022) from United States.

AI has made a sizable difference in energy consumption. Here France believes it has the advantage. France, a leader in nuclear energy, touts that renewable energy could not sustain the insatiable energy needs of AI. It would be irresponsible to try to keep up with fossil fuels due to the amount of carbon emissions. So, France seems to be the logical choice as the capital of AI.

Vive la France!
